CARE OF DENTURES, PARTIALS, and ORAL TISSUES

It is very important to take good care of your dentures, partials and oral tissues. Thorough cleaning of appliances daily is NECESSARY to maintain healthy tissues. Bacterial plaque accumulates on dentures and partials just like it does on teeth. Regular check-ups must be scheduled in order ensure proper fit of your appliances.
RINSE:
After every meal, if brushing is not possible. Remove denture or partial and also rinse mouth with plain warm water or occasionally with warm salt water.
BRUSH:
dentures or partial at least twice daily. Use caution when brushing appliances. You do not want to distort, bend, or fracture any part of the appliance. Brush your denture or partial over a padded surface, such as a folded towel.
IMMERSION/SOAKING:
is needed when appliance is not being worn. Store denture or partial in plain, lukewarm water.
STORAGE:
of dentures and partials should be in cool water or cleaning solution overnight if possible, in a covered plastic container. Place container in a safe place.
CARE OF ORAL TISSUES:
1 - Mouth tissues should be brushed daily with a soft toothbrush.
2 - Massage mouth tissues with thumb and index finger.
3 - Massage roof of mouth with the ball of your thumb.
4 - Mouth tissues should rest daily. Do not wear dentures or partials during sleep.
