TEMPORARY VENEERS
Your dentist may place temporary veneers on your teeth while you wait for your permanent veneers to be custom made at the lab. Temporary veneers are simply a covering that will protect your teeth until your permanent veneers are ready.
Temporary veneers are not as strong as the permanent veneers. Follow these tips to help your
temporary veneers stay in place.
WHEN BRUSHING:
- Use a soft toothbrush and don't brush hard.
- Avoid harsh toothpaste, which can harm your veneers.
- Clean around your gumline carefully.
WHEN FLOSSING:
- Floss between all teeth at least once a day to remove plaque.
- Start flossing in one place and work carefully around your mouth.
- If you cannot floss, contact us.
WHAT TO DO IF A PROBLEM OCCURS:
- If your temporary veneers come loose or pop off, call our office for rebonding. Keep the veneer and bring it with you for your appointment.
NEXT APPOINTMENT:
We will set an appointment to complete the veneers as soon as the permanent veneers are ready. To do this, we will simply remove the temporary and replace it with a permanent veneer. The cement that bonds the permanent veneer to your tooth is much stronger than the temporary bonding agent.
